~ MEETING HOST ~

US Trust/Bank of America Private Bank

Judith A. Wagner CPA/ABV, CFF, CVA – What she found was the basis of “the most important corruption case since statehood.”

While serving as the receiver of an engineering firm, Judith Wagner discovered and diligently documented evidence of a conspiracy to divert $4.2 million from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Courthouse into the pockets of politicians, administrators and contractors.  She turned her extensive file over to Federal authorities in 2005 and cooperated with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney over the course of the next three years.

Eight people – including a former New Mexico Senate President Pro Tem, a former Mayor of Albuquerque, and one of New Mexico’s most high-profile architects – have pled guilty to charges including mail fraud, conspiracy and misprision of a felony.

The case “shook the state’s political foundations and sent shock waves all the way to Washington, DC.”

Following the guilty pleas, forensic accountant Judith Wagner is finally able to talk about her journey from court-appointed Receiver in a civil shareholder dispute to fact witness in a high profile criminal case.
